Speaking in Amenfi Central, she criticized the current government's failure to create job opportunities, driving youth to galamsey.
Meanwhile, NPP MP Dr. Ayew Afriyie stated that the government won't ban galamsey, citing its economic importance in mining communities and blaming foreign involvement for environmental issues.
Civil society groups are calling for clear commitments from both parties to address illegal mining ahead of the upcoming elections.
