We lost 5 laptops but it won’t affect election – Jean Mensa

Jean Mensa, Chairperson for the Electoral Commission (EC), has confirmed the theft of five laptops from the Commission's offices but assured that it does not impact the voter registration or election process.

Speaking in Parliament on July 19, 2024, Mensa emphasized that the stolen devices require specific keys to be activated and cannot independently affect the registration system.

She reassured the public of the EC's commitment to maintaining electoral security and integrity, highlighting ongoing efforts to enhance security measures and ensure transparency in the upcoming December elections.
