The Ghana Hydrological Authority has stated that $5 billion is needed to effectively address the country’s flood issues.
In 2023, the Authority received only GH¢92 million under the National Flood Control Programme, which it deems inadequate.
Dr. John Kissi, CEO of the Authority, emphasized that this funding is essential for comprehensive flood management nationwide.
