The Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN), the student’s wing of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) of the University of Cape Coast has fumed over the recent harassments of their National Chairman, Mr Samuel Ofosu Ampofo by the Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service.

They say the NDC party will not be dismayed by the actions of the CID as one not without the influence of persons in the NPP government.

In a statement signed by the Communication Officer of the association Mr Samuel Ayeh, the group noted that the government can only take the microphones from them but cannot take their voices.

They described the Akufo-Addo led government as an intolerant one, which is bent on suppressing dissent views.

They stressed that "The current happenings are enough attestation that the NDC is the vehicle God will use to save Ghana from the current tyranny, corruption and hopelessness."

They claim the Akufo-Addo led government is only interested in silencing anyone that exposes them.

"We woke up to the news of the murder of Hussein Suale. Now even Manasseh Azure with his inexhaustible ink has been sent into exile to a faraway land where there is no paper nor folder", they asserted.

UCC CHAPTER

TOPIC: WE ARE RESILIENT –WE WILL NEVER BE DISMAYED

We ought to be proud of ourselves. Current happenings are enough attestation that the NDC is the vehicle God will use to save Ghana from the current tyranny, corruption and hopelessness. The battle for 2020 is no longer an issue of NDC and NPP. It is a battle to save Ghana from sinking into abyss. The NPP government has made HE John Dramani Mahama a saviour. He is no longer a political leader. He is a saviour from God to this country, Ghana. Any Ghanaian that puts Ghana first must join hands to kick NPP out of power.

The NPP knows they have failed Ghanaians. They know they have promised much and delivered little. Harassing Chairman Ofosu Ampofo is one of their antics to shift Ghanaians attention from the current economic hardships and security breakdown.

Nothing of this government should be surprising anymore. When, Anas Aremeyaw Anas tiger eye PI, uncovered massive corruption in our football, this government featured. Any investigation that unravelled corruption in the last three years had members of this government as culprits. This NPP government is excellent in corruption. We have to be humble enough to give them that credit.

Interestingly, this government is not ready to part with their corrupt ways. They are rather interested in silencing anyone that exposes them. We woke up to the news of the murder of Hussein-Suale. Now, even Manessah Azure with his inexhaustible ink has been sent into exile to a faraway land where there is no paper nor folder.

The intolerance has reached its crescendo. Radio stations that disseminate dissenting views are shutdown. The new normal is to speak for NPP or be wiped out of the system.

We want to tell the NPP that we are still stronger. We want to tell them we can still be heard. They can take the microphone from us but they cannot take our voice from us.

Yes, the NPP can shutdown the radio stations but they cannot shutdown our social media accounts. The NDC will still expose the corruption and nepotism of this government. We cannot keep our quite on the rot of this government anymore.

The NPP is giving Ghanaians good reasons they do not deserve another chance in 2020. We are calling on all Ghanaians to forgive the NPP of their failed promises and accept their plea of admittance of incompetence. But we have to reprimand them into opposition for wasting Ghanaians time. Ghanaians have a big heart but the NPP cannot go scot free for retrogressing the development of our precious country.

Signed!
