As the October 10 deadline for a nationwide demonstration approaches, government spokesperson Dr. Palgrave Boakye-Danquah has urged Organized Labour to ease their demands for a state of emergency over illegal mining (galamsey).

Speaking on Joy News, he emphasized the importance of dialogue and assured that the government is actively engaging in discussions to resolve the issue.

While some unions are voting on whether to strike, Dr. Boakye-Danquah expressed optimism that a resolution is near, highlighting ongoing talks and urging unions to allow more time for the government to address their concerns.
