It appears some semblance of peace is reeling its head in the rancorous Weija-Gbawa constituency as a picture of the two quarreling parliamentary aspirants supposedly praying for peace, has appeared on social media.
The picture was taken today Sunday October 30, Starrfmonline.com sources have said.
The image which has gone viral shows the two feuding candidates holding hands and facing each other in a prayer mood at the Mendskrom Presbyterian Church of Ghana in Accra. The two were reportedly invited for the Harvest of the church.
Tina of the NPP and Obuobia Darko of the ruling NDC have been at each other’s throat since the blast of the election 2016 whistle. They have both accused each other of unfair politicking with Tina often raising issues of incumbency abuse against her rival, who is deputy head of the Ghana Free Zones Board.
A recent case of tension between the two was a donation of an ambulance to the general hospital within the constituency by Obuobia on her birthday. Tina and her supporters have attacked her for the move, claiming the gift was sponsored by the government, an accusation she has flatly denied.
They have also countlessly clashed on radio platforms over their plans for the constituency.
The Weija-Gbawe constituency has been tipped as one of the flashpoints in the upcoming elections.
