The Western North Regional Small-Scale Miners Association is intensifying efforts to combat illegal mining, especially on river bodies.
In a recent operation, their taskforce, supported by local security, destroyed various mining equipment, including canoes and changfans, to protect water bodies from pollution and siltation.
Chairman Vasco Daforhu emphasized the importance of preserving natural resources for future generations, stating that they will not allow illegal activities to harm the environment.
Secretary Pritz Wise Tagoe urged the public to join their fight against illegal mining, emphasizing the need for a collective effort devoid of political influences.
