Winneba Hospital Director suspended as GHS investigates abandoned patient saga

The Medical Director of Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital has been temporarily relieved of duties pending an investigation into allegations of abandoning a patient in a bush at Gomoa Ojobi.

A video circulating on social media showed a woman wrapped in sheets and left in the bush, allegedly dumped by an ambulance from the hospital.

The Ghana Health Service has established a committee to investigate, and the Medical Director's temporary removal aims to ensure credibility and access to information.

Appropriate action will be taken upon completion of the inquiry to hold responsible parties accountable.
