Women in the Northern Region are urging President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to approve the Anti-Witchcraft Bill, which aims to protect older women from false accusations of witchcraft.
During a Gender-Based Violence sensitization program, participants highlighted the severe abuse women face in the Northern, North East, and Savannah Regions, where over 1,000 women are in "witch camps" after being falsely accused.
The bill, if signed, would eradicate these harmful practices.
The women stressed that men with similar "powers" are seen as powerful, while women are ostracized and punished, urging the President to act swiftly.
