YEA to launch initiatives aimed at creating sustainable employments
The Youth Employment Agency (YEA), as parts of its mandate of creating and facilitating employment for the youth of Ghana, between the ages of 15 and 35, has introduced four key initiatives aimed at creating sustainable jobs.
Read full articleThe initiatives will be launched by the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, at 9am on October 2, 2019, at the Bank of Ghana Auditorium, University of Ghana.
This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Information, Pius Enam Hadzide, on Thursday Morning, during a press briefing.
The four initiatives are Job Centres, Artisan Directory, Agric Based Flagship Programmes and a Work Abroad Programme.
The Work Abroad Programme, the Minister said will enable the export of young professionals such as nurses and teachers into other countries, whiles the Job Centres will serve as a platform to link job seekers to employers. The Artisan Directory will be a centre that will train and set up artisans such as beauticians, masons, carpenters and fashion designers, and make them accessible through the use of ICT.
He also added that, the Agric Based Flagship Programmes will be targeted at districts and regions taking into cognisance their natural resource endowments, and the comparative advantages of those districts and regions.
The Minister called on employers, job seekers and the youth to attend the launch.
