The chief of Achiase in the Juaben municipality of the Ashanti Region, Nana Tabono Bonsu III has demarcated 200 acres of land to be given to Ghanaians in the diaspora who have returned home as part of the Year of Return programme and wish to settle down to build factories to improve the lives of the natives.

Nana Tabono Bonsu III said the land will be given out for free for the construction of any kind of factory – be it fruit juice, cocoa processing, car assembling plant, among others.

Speaking to the media at the annual harvest and thanksgiving service of the community, the chief said the community is peaceful and has not recorded any incident of impasse for the past 400 years, and for that reason, it will be safe to set up businesses in the area.

Nana Bonsu III noted that establishing factories in the community will not only help to bring development to the area but also improve the lives of the residents and natives in the area.

“We have given or we have demarcated about a 200-acre land for the Year of Return, our diasporan brothers coming from America, coming from Holland, coming from UK are welcomed here to establish their factories, and I think that it will be a very good place to establish a factory, it’s closer to Kumasi, it’s closer to Takoradi and if they come here, we’re welcoming them because they’re our brothers who left us over 400 years ago,” Nana Bonsu III stated.

He added that: “Now that they’re coming back, as a chief, I welcome them with my whole heart supporting the government’s project of the year of return and we welcome them and we hope to give them unfettered access to our land because they’re our brothers to establish factories which will improve upon the lives of our people.”
