Senyo Hosi, Convener of One Ghana Movement, has urged President Nana Akufo-Addo to prioritize leaving a positive legacy by effectively combating illegal mining, or "galamsey."
In an interview on JoyNews, Hosi expressed disappointment in the president's handling of the environmental damage caused by galamsey, referencing Akufo-Addo's 2016 "Kalyppo" campaign moment.
He criticized the government's inaction and called it a threat to future generations.
Hosi also lamented organized labour’s decision to cancel a planned protest but praised UTAG for continuing their strike. He encouraged Ghanaians to protest by wearing red against galamsey.
