A million people hit by flooding in South Sudan

Over a million people in South Sudan are suffering due to severe flooding, according to the UN's humanitarian organization, OCHA.

Over a quarter of those affected have been displaced, particularly in the northern regions, and are seeking refuge on higher ground.

In Pibor alone, 112,000 individuals have lost their homes.

The floods have made delivering aid increasingly difficult, with 15 major supply routes becoming impassable.

The situation is compounded by the ongoing humanitarian crisis from the civil war in neighboring Sudan, with over half a million Sudanese refugees registered in South Sudan since last year.
