Cameroon's 91-year-old President Paul Biya has made a public appearance for the first time in six weeks, ending speculation about his health that led to rumors of his death.

State television aired footage of Biya arriving at Yaoundé airport from Switzerland, where he had been on a private visit.

The government has restricted media coverage of his health, deeming it a matter of national security.
