How Uganda revenue agency used iconic AFCON photo to warn against 'penalties'

A photo of the referee offering his whistle and cards to Salah to take over officiating due to the latter’s incessant complaints was widely shared and commented upon on social media.

Salah, of course, turned down the offer but Uganda’s Revenue Authority, URA, took an offer of using the photo to caution citizens.

They shared the viral photo with a caption: “Eventually, penalties hurt your business. Avoid them at all times. #SmartPlay.”

The caption relates to how the final game between Egypt and Senegal started off with a big penalty and eventually ended with penalties.

Senegalese forward Sadio Mane was involved in both penalties, missing the first one before the game travelled 120 minutes without a goal. Subsequently, Mane struck the deciding freekick that allowed the Teranga Lions to secure their first AFCON trophy.
