Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed met with Malaysia's Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to strengthen cooperation in agriculture, industry, and trade.
During Abiy’s two-day visit to Malaysia, both leaders discussed mutual opportunities, and Anwar thanked Abiy for supporting Malaysia's entry into BRICS.
Initially formed by Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, BRICS recently expanded to include Ethiopia, Iran, Egypt, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia.
Malaysia was accepted as a “partner country” and has formally applied for full membership, joining other nations expressing interest in the alliance.
