Sudan is one of the worst places for children, according to UNICEF head Catherine Russell.
With over a year of brutal civil war, Sudan now has the largest displacement of children globally, millions facing malnutrition, and most out of school.
Russell highlighted the urgent need for action as food economy pillars have collapsed and aid delivery is restricted by both the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). Nearly nine million children are undernourished, with four million acutely malnourished.
The crisis is man-made, with food access severely hampered, risking a lost generation and future instability. Russell is advocating for increased international focus and intervention.
