South African footballer Shaun Mogaila, 29, faces charges of culpable homicide and reckless driving following a fatal car crash in Gauteng province that resulted in the death of a nine-year-old girl.
The incident occurred when Mogaila allegedly crashed his BMW into a vehicle carrying an adult woman and two children.
The girl was pronounced dead at the scene.
After the crash, Mogaila surrendered to the Rabie Ridge Police Station.
He was expected to appear in court, but there was a delay.
The adult woman and a 13-year-old are currently hospitalized.
A video of the crash has gone viral, sparking outrage, although some have defended Mogaila for reporting the incident. He had played a match earlier that day against Richards Bay.
