South African police have arrested three individuals linked to the massacre of 18 family members in Lusikisiki, Eastern Cape, last week.
Police Minister Senzo Mchunu confirmed the arrests during a memorial service for the victims, who included 15 women and three men, aged 14 to 64.
The shootings occurred during a family gathering for a traditional ceremony.
Authorities are still investigating the motive behind the killings and expect to announce a fourth suspect soon.
The incident has heightened calls for increased police protection and efforts to combat gender-based violence in a country with one of the highest murder rates globally.
