Ugandan Olympic runner Rebecca Cheptegei, 33, died after being set on fire by her ex-boyfriend in Kenya.
The attack happened outside her home, and she died four days later in the hospital due to severe burns.
Cheptegei's death has drawn attention to rising violence against women in Kenya, especially female athletes.
Her funeral will be held in Uganda on Saturday.
Cheptegei was a celebrated athlete, having competed in the Paris Olympics and won gold at the 2022 World Mountain Running Championships.
She is the third female athlete killed in Kenya in recent years.
