Deputy Sports Minister Hon. Perry Okudzeto has confirmed Ghana will bid for the 2023 All Africa Games.
According to the government official, plans have been put in place to ensure Ghana secures the rights for the events which takes place every four years.
This could be the first time Ghana will host the competition should the country be given the rights.
“We are putting things in place to bid for the 2023 All Africa Games competition,” the minister spoke to the media.
“We have already submitted our request and hope it will be granted.
“We believe we have the capacity to host the All Africa Games having been able to host several other competitions such as the Cup of Nations and the rest.”
Ghana have already hosted the Africa Cup of Nations on three occasions.
The West Africa nation have also been handed the rights to host the 11th edition of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations which takes place in November this year.
