John Dramani Mahama, the NDC flagbearer, has pledged to revitalize boxing in Ghana if elected in the 2024 General Elections.
Speaking at the Bukom Boxing Arena on International Youth Day, Mahama criticized the current administration for Ghana's failure to qualify a boxer for the Paris Olympics, a first in over two decades.
He outlined plans to fully utilize the arena's facilities, including a gym, hostel, and school, as a national incubator for boxing talent.
Mahama emphasized the importance of identifying young talent across the country and nurturing them at the center of excellence.
