National Democratic Congress (NDC) flag bearer hopeful, Professor Joshua Alabi, has applauded Bantamweight World Champion Isaac 'The Royal Storm' Dogboe, for raising the flag of Ghana high by winning a world title for the country.
Isaac Dogboe last Saturday managed to snatch the WBO world Bantamweight title from Jessie Magdaleno through a technical knockout. The bout travelled as far as the 11th round before Dogboe finally got the job done.
'The Royal Storm', who has now become the 8th world boxing champion that Ghana has produced, has been receiving congratulatory messages and a whole lot of applause from top personalities and many Ghanaians.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, ex-President Jerry John Rawlings and boxing legend Azumah Nelson have all congratulated the young boxer.
Speaking to Class News, Prof Alabi said the young champion has done well and should be commended.
He, however, advised Dogboe to continue being disciplined and listen to his handlers so that he can improve on himself as a boxer.
“It is said that winning a title is difficult but to retain it is more difficult”, he said.
