$1.2b Bridge Power Plant will fuel an industrial revolution, job creation & attract foreign investment – Akufo-Addo
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo commissioned the $1.2 billion Bridge Power Plant in Tema on November 19, 2024, marking a significant milestone in Ghana’s energy journey.
The 515-megawatt combined-cycle power plant, developed in partnership with Early Power Ltd. and Endeavour Energy, is one of the country’s largest and most advanced power facilities.
President Akufo-Addo hailed the plant as a transformative step towards energy independence, recalling the challenges of “dumsor” under previous administrations.
He emphasized the plant’s role in providing stable, efficient, and environmentally sustainable electricity, boosting industrial growth, rural electrification, and economic progress.
The facility represents Ghana’s commitment to innovation and green energy solutions, with cutting-edge technology ensuring lower carbon emissions. The President urged stakeholders to sustain partnerships and maintain the facility to support Ghana’s energy ambitions.
