Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has inaugurated phase two of Ghana's first micro hydropower plant at the Tsatsadu Generating Station in Hohoe.
The expansion includes a 75-kilowatt turbine, boosting the station's capacity to 120 kilowatts. The plant, developed by Bui Power Authority, feeds into the national grid.
Dr. Bawumia emphasized the importance of renewable energy, reaffirming his goal to add 2,000 megawatts of solar power, reducing electricity costs by 50% within his first four years if elected.
Additionally, the Tsatsadu Center of Excellence was launched to train students in hydropower.
