Selasi Kofi Ackom, CEO of the Ghana International Trade and Finance Conference (GITFiC), has been invited by the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) to join the 3rd Joint Intergovernmental Committee of Senior Officials and Experts session in Rabat, Morocco.
The session, focusing on accelerating the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) implementation through digital transformation and economic diversification, will feature Ackom moderating a panel on leveraging innovative digital technologies to enhance intra-regional trade.
This invitation follows UNECA’s participation in the 8th GITFiC event in Ghana, where global debt initiatives were discussed.
Ackom is also scheduled to hold meetings with Moroccan ministries to discuss the AfCFTA, the Global Debt Initiative, and the GITFiC-AfCFTA Tertiary Students Club, along with the upcoming launch of an AfCFTA curriculum for tertiary institutions in February 2025.
