Ghana's GSM network operator, Spacefon says that it is the only mobile phone operator that has deployed its services in all the ten regional capitals and most key cities and towns across the country. His excellency, the Vice President Alhaji Aliu Mahama has called upon the National Communications Authority to device strategies that will accelerate the growth of rural telephony and other technologies such as internet access.
The Vice President said this in a speech during the commissioning of Spacefon’s Cell Site at Mount Mary Training College, Somanya in the Eastern Region recently. Mr. Ahmad Farroukh, Managing Director of Scancom Ltd said his organization is committed to living up to its slogan “Communication for the Nation”, since it believes in empowering the mass of the people through communication.
The latest additions include Hohoe, Kpando, Akuse, Odumase and Navrongo.
