Ghana retains 10th position with lowest fuel price in Africa

Ghana retained its 10th position for the lowest fuel prices in Africa in September 2024, with an average petrol price of $0.985 per liter, ranking 43rd globally.

Libya holds the top spot in Africa with $0.031 per liter, followed by Egypt and Angola.

Fuel prices in Ghana dropped between 2% and 4% in August 2024, due to a slower cedi depreciation and favorable international market conditions.

Petrol fell by 2.99%, diesel by 4.59%, and LPG by 1.10%, according to the Institute for Energy Security (IES).
