Government, GRA take steps to address tax non-compliance; launches IT Training Center – A Dep. Finance Minister

The Ghanaian government aims to increase the tax-to-GDP ratio from 14% to 21%, addressing tax noncompliance through enhanced education and service delivery.

Deputy Finance Minister Dr. Alex Ampaabeng emphasized the importance of taxpayer education in improving voluntary compliance.

At the opening of the IT Training Centre in Tema, he highlighted reforms like online filing and partnerships with the World Bank to enhance service.

GRA Commissioner-General Julie Essiam stressed the need for a customer-centric approach, supported by training from Deloitte and partnerships with UK and German governments, to ensure effective tax system delivery.
