The Asian African Consortium (AAC), a subsidiary of the Jospong Group, has launched Jospong Rice, a high-quality, locally grown, and processed rice product in Ghana.
The launch at Agrifest 2024 was endorsed by the Minister of Food and Agriculture, Bryan Acheampong, as “Authentic Ghanaian rice.”
The initiative aims to reduce Ghana’s reliance on imported rice, which costs over GHC6.8 billion annually, by supporting local farmers and promoting sustainable agricultural practices.
AAC is investing in modern production technologies, high-quality seeds, and training for smallholder farmers. This effort aligns with the government’s goal of boosting the economy through import substitution and ensuring food security.
AAC's innovations in mechanization and partnerships with key stakeholders are vital to strengthening Ghana’s agricultural sector.
