Economist and Finance Professor Godfred Bokpin has stressed the critical importance of Ghana's transition period from January to March 2025, following the December 7 elections. He warned that how the next administration manages this phase will significantly impact the country's growth or economic decline.

Prof. Bokpin noted that Ghana has historically struggled with smooth regime changes since its 1992 democratic transition, often leading to instability that harms the investment climate. He called for efficient management of the transition, regardless of the election outcome.

Additionally, he urged the incoming government to prioritize agriculture to enhance food security, create jobs, and stabilize living costs. Tackling inflation by reducing food prices, he added, would provide direct relief to Ghanaians. Effective leadership will be pivotal to addressing these challenges and securing the country’s future.
