Dr. Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, President of ARDA and CEO of Ghana’s National Petroleum Authority, has urged action to address Africa’s clean cooking crisis, citing LPG as essential to replace harmful biomass fuels.
Speaking at the 2024 ARDA LPG Forum, he highlighted that 80% of Africans still use polluting fuels, resulting in nearly 500,000 deaths annually.
The forum, themed "Revolutionizing LPG Adoption and Long-Term Sustainability," aims to ensure universal LPG access by 2030 through partnerships, infrastructure, and policy support.
Dr. Abdul-Hamid called for collaborative efforts to expand affordable LPG access, emphasizing its benefits for health, sustainability, and economic growth.
