The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) expressed disappointment with the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission’s (PURC) report on its Cash Waterfall Mechanism (CWM), citing misrepresentation of key issues.
ECG criticized the labeling of essential fuel costs as a "variance" and highlighted its progress, such as independently procuring fuel.
ECG also noted the report overlooked forex losses and payment delays to Independent Power Producers (IPPs), leading to a misleading narrative.
ECG called for more constructive leadership and accurate reporting from PURC to support progress in Ghana’s energy sector.
