Benjamin Boakye, Executive Director of the Africa Center for Energy Policy (ACEP), attributed the current power sector challenges in Ghana to mismanagement, citing long-standing issues with planning and efficiency.
He explained that shortages in gas and fuel stem from poor planning and lack of financial liquidity.
Boakye emphasized that without proper management, these problems will persist. His comments followed power interruptions reported by GRIDCo and ECG, partly due to reduced capacity at the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant.
Former Power Minister, Dr. Kwabena Donkor, also dismissed claims that maintenance works alone were causing power outages.
