RE: NPA shuts down Radiance Filling Station for suspected adulterated product

The Radiance Filling station in Ho has refuted claims that the National Petroleum Authority has locked up its tank and dispensers for allegedly selling adulterated product to a customer.
Read full article A story published by the Ghana News Agency this week indicated that the filling station had been closed down after a customer complained to the NPA that they were selling contaminated petroleum products.
According to the GNA report, officials of the NPA were dispatched to the site to secure samples and seal the affected dispensers and tanks to assist in its investigations after the affected customer had filled complaint forms.
This was confirmed by the Volta Regional Manager of the NPA, Mr Rasheed Dauda who disclosed that preliminary investigations would be undertaken at the laboratory of the filling station in Ho with other segments going for forensic audit either at the Ghana Standards Authority or the Tema Oil Refinery.
However, in a rebuttal and denial letter, a copy of which was sent to Ghanaweb.com, management of Radiance Filling Station say the reportage by the GNA was inaccurate.
In their five-point rejoinder, the management of the Radiance filling station, say they wanted the general public to note that:
- A preliminary test was done onsite by the NPA and the sampled product passed the test.
- Only diesel tank has been locked awaiting confirmatory test from the GSA laboratory in Accra.
- The station is operating and has not been shut down.
- As part of our commitment to our customers, the aggrieved customer was compensated for the lost time.
- Radiance Petroleum Limited remains committed to giving our customers the best fuel.
