U.S. Ambassador to Ghana, Virginia Palmer, urged the government and stakeholders in the oil and gas sector to honor contract terms with industry partners to ensure a stable business environment.
Speaking at the 2024 Ghana Oil and Gas Conference, she emphasized the need for investor-friendly tax policies and efficient dispute resolution to attract and retain investments.
Palmer called for contract sanctity, international arbitration provisions, and fair treatment by the Ghana Revenue Authority. The Energy Ministry’s Chief Director, James Yaw Amoah, reiterated the government’s commitment to sustainable market improvements and investor-friendly fiscal policies to enhance petroleum reserves utilization.
