Chief Executive Officer of the Chief Executive Network Ghana, Mr. Ernest De-Graft Egyir is urging government to focus more attention on Small and Medium Enterprises by directing policy initiatives to help them scale up.
According to Mr. De-Graft Egyir, Small and Medium business sector employs the largest of the Ghanaian active labour. Hence, imperative for government to pay due attention to creating the enabling environment for them to thrive.
“SMEs are very vital to every country’s economy in Ghana. SMEs constitute 92% of the operational business and contribute about 70% of the country’s GDP. Government must focus policies to SMEs to help them scale up their business.” Mr. De-Graft Egyir noted.
Mr. De-Graft Egyir also explained that the rationale behind organising the SME CEO Summit is to create the platform for SME CEOs and industry professionals to improve the quality and profitability of their enterprises through shared experiences and personal growth strategies.
“The summit will enable global SME, stakeholders and local SME CEOs to integrate and interact with world class experts to foster knowledge acquisition, learning, partnerships and synergies to drive increased personally as well as organisational growth,” he said.
The maiden edition of the Ghana SMEs CEO Summit will be held on the 20th November, 2017 at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel in Accra.
