The Smart Africa Alliance has reaffirmed its commitment to transforming Ghana into a unified digital market by 2030, with the launch of 5G technology seen as a key milestone.
This high-speed, low-latency connectivity aims to stimulate economic growth and social development, especially in sectors like agriculture, education, healthcare, and finance.
Ghana’s telecommunications growth has been significant since liberalizing in 1992, and with 5G, the country is poised for further advancement.
The 5G rollout, managed by NextGen Infraco, will initially cover key regions, setting Ghana as a model for digital transformation in Africa.
The technology is expected to enhance digital inclusion and drive innovations like IoT and AI across the continent.
