In the first half of 2024, Spain became the leading investor in Ghana, with $76.4 million in foreign direct investment (FDI), according to the Ghana Investment Promotion Center's (GIPC) Second Quarter 2024 report.
China followed as the second-largest investor, contributing $36.1 million and leading with 26 registered projects. Overall, Ghana attracted $179.07 million in FDI, including $7.09 million in local investments.
A total of 69 projects were registered across various sectors, with the manufacturing sector leading with 29 projects. The investments are expected to create 8,524 jobs.
Notably, the Liaison sector attracted the highest FDI value at $76.3 million, followed by manufacturing and general trading, underscoring these sectors' economic importance.
