Christel Alvergne, UNCDF's Regional Coordinator, highlighted the success of the Boosting Green Employment and Enterprise Opportunities (GrEEn) project in Ghana, emphasizing its impact on job creation, entrepreneurship, and service access for beneficiaries.
The project, in partnership with local government, has supported climate-resilient economies and empowered MMDAs in gender-sensitive local economic planning.
At the project’s closing event, Alvergne noted the initiative’s contributions toward the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Doha Programme of Action.
United Nations Resident Coordinator Charles Abani added that GrEEn exceeded its goal of expanding financial access, reaching over 190,000 people and creating 2,300 jobs, 80% of which were filled by women.
