Chef Ebenezer Smith
Ghanaian Chef Ebenezer Smith, known as Chef Smith, has been arrested in La, Accra, coinciding with his announcement of securing a Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon.
The arrest took place at La Palm Hotel during a press conference, instigated by musician Nana Boro, who claimed Chef Smith owed him money from their previous collaboration.
Despite attempts to settle the matter after the event, security personnel intervened, resulting in the chef's detention.
Meanwhile, social media users are questioning the authenticity of his Guinness World Record, though his manager, Benny, insists it is legitimate, citing an email confirmation from Guinness World Records.
Chef Smith began his cook-a-thon on February 1, 2024, and cooked for 820 hours, finishing on March 6, 2024.
