The body of a class four pupil named Kwaku has been found in a bush near the Odumasi gas filling station in the Asante Akyem Central district of the Ashanti region.
Kwaku had a gunshot wound.
He had disappeared from home on Monday evening, and despite efforts by his family to find him, he was discovered dead by some residents.
His mother, Abigail Asante, expressed her shock over the incident.
The body has been deposited at the Yawkwei Steward mortuary pending an autopsy.
