The family of 18-year-old Jagiri Mborilen has suspected foul play in his death while in police custody in Chamba, Nanumba North Municipality.
His brother, Ganiw Abass, had visited Jagiri in the morning to assure him that the family was working on his bail.
Shockingly, later that day, Abass was informed that Jagiri had committed suicide, a claim he finds suspicious, especially given the circumstances of the death.
Jagiri had been accused of theft by a woman following a soothsayer's identification, and although the family had agreed to repay the stolen money, Jagiri's death has raised serious concerns.
The family is demanding a thorough investigation into the incident.
