GRA seizes Nigeria made explosives @ Aflao border …smugglers assisting state security agencies in their investigations
A truck carrying smuggled mining explosives from Nigeria was intercepted at the Kpoglo border in Ghana’s Volta Region.
The truck, registered AV1442RB/BJ8627RB, was stopped on May 29, 2024, after a tip-off received by security agencies at the Segbe Border Post.
Although labeled as carrying household goods, the inspection revealed high explosives, identified as High Explosive Solar Prime, originating from Nigeria.
The consignment is now stored with Buckdorn Company Limited at Shai Hills, Greater Accra, as directed by the Minerals Commission and Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).
The explosives are under tight security pending further investigation by the police, with oversight from the Small Arms and Minerals Commission to ensure safety protocols.
