In a heated session at the Debiso Magistrate Court, lawyer Ebenezer Abiaw has defended his client, Adams Adson Enterprise, accused of attempting to smuggle 800 bags of cocoa to Ivory Coast.
Arrested on June 18 in Sehwi Adjofua, Bia West District, following a Cocobod tip-off, the suspect faced charges of attempted smuggling.
Abiaw argued that his client, engaged in legitimate cocoa franchise activities, was wrongfully accused, as the arrest occurred far from any border.
He questioned the credibility of the Cocobod officer, Major Rtd. Ebenezer Tetteh, citing past wrongful arrests and called for government intervention.
