Police and A-G sued for GH¢15 million for chopping off ear of pregnant woman during police interrogations
Judith Yaa Kumah, a young musician who is also pregnant, has filed a lawsuit against the Ghana Police Service, Officer Clement Suputor, and the Attorney-General.
She claims that during her arrest at the Community 8 Police Station, Officer Suputor cut off her right ear without cause and offered her "weed" for pain relief.
Kumah, who was arrested while trying to help a friend, says she was denied proper medical care and was tortured during questioning.
She is suing for false arrest, assault, and violation of her rights.
Kumah seeks GHS 15 million in damages and demands that the authorities cover the costs of reconstructing her ear and treating her hearing loss.
