Awal Mohammed, an independent parliamentary candidate for Madina, has been discharged by the Adentan Circuit Court after police withdrew charges of offensive conduct against him.
The case stemmed from a complaint by Abdul Razak Hussein, the NDC's Madina constituency secretary, alleging that Mohammed, a former NDC member, had posted campaign posters featuring himself alongside NDC presidential candidate John Mahama.
Party members were concerned these posters could cause unrest.
Mohammed denied putting up the posters but admitted referencing Mahama in his campaign.
The court discharged him following the police's withdrawal of the case.
