Dancehall king Shatta Wale has called the office of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) as ‘Auntie Akosua bar’ after he visited American rapper, actor, businessman, and investor 50 Cent’s G-Unit office in New York, USA.
Shatta Wale’s visit to America was an opportunity for him to meet 50 Cent and according to him “way back in Ghana, I heard 50 Cent said he wants to meet me because he enjoys my music but I didn’t believe it so well”.
“His management knew I have my Shatta Movement management already. They came with brand idea, they told me the man was so interested in me, he really wanted to have a meeting with me at the right time.
“A meeting was arranged between me and him (50 Cent) at his office. He was in a meeting with His team and lawyers. We didn’t have a lengthy chat, all he said was we going to sit down well and talk of what is ahead of us, he was happy and I was interviewed on one of His radio program on www.thisis50.com,” he added.
Shatta Wale, who was being interviewed on Accra-based Onua 95.1 FM by Christian Agyei Frimpong further stated that “comparing 50 Cent’s G-Unit office in New York to the head office of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), his office looks like Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel Accra whiles MUSIGA office looks like ‘Auntie Akosua Bar’.”
