All Ghanaians must be made aware that during the transition period after the 2008 elections, the current Minister of Finance & Economic Planning Ken Ofori-Atta who was a member of the NPP team, had only one concern. To save his company, Databank and Affiliates such as Enterprise Insurance.
Databank has the Obotan issue hanging around its neck with the allegation that they had misapplied SSNIT funds. The late President John Fiifi Atta Mills told his NDC team members to leave Databank alone. He said he would not be one to collapse a Ghanaian Business. He warned his people against ignoring the many families who would lose their livelihood if Databank and affiliates were closed down, whether justified or not. He championed Ghanaian enterprise.
Today, what are we experiencing?
The beneficiary of the Atta Mills magnanimity Ken Ofori-Atta of Databank has been leading the pack to collapse Ghanaian owned banks, insurance companies, savings and loans companies and investment houses in Databank name of reform. Only his friends remain.
Ofori-Atta’s Databank is thriving with crony protection. Databank gets government jobs from the Ministry of Finance that is led by the company’s founder. NPP people look on while one man chops with both hands. Thousands have lost their jobs and their families are suffering.
Ghanaians must tell President Akufo-Addo that his “Ghana Beyond Aid” agenda will not succeed with Ofori-Atta’s wickedness and vindictive attitude.
2020 is just around the corner!
