Between God and virus

No one knows about a thing until he or she is introduced to it and learn about it. Even the so-called members of the enlightened community of the world, including scientists, lack knowledge about many things. They are ignorant about many things of life. We claim to know something only after we have been exposed to it or discovered it often through research or investigation.

The fact that someone does not see God with his physical eyes does not mean He does not exist. A small group of people in the world speak of seeing disease-causing pathogens called viruses, bacteria or fungi. These people assert that humans cannot see the organisms with their physical eyes except under optical devices like a microscope.

And nearly the entire peoples of the world believe in their reports even though they have never personally seen them, cannot see them or prove their exact origins. In fact, many of the people who doubt the existence of God because they cannot see Him have equally not seen pathogens before, yet they believe in their existence and fear them.

Clearly, it is surprising that many of those who preach the existence of pathogens criticize and ridicule the existence of God when others speak of seeing or knowing Him. Believers do not see God with the eyes of their body, but with the eyes of their spirit; this often happens in dreams, visions and trances.

There are other ways men experience the presence of God; He may manifest Himself to humans by His sovereign will and purpose. When God, out of His abundant grace and mercy, comes to dwell in your heart, you realize that something unusual and supernatural has happened to you. You realize that someone – God – is with you as He speaks to your heart and makes you a new person.

You see, one thing we must understand is that God is a Spirit; He cannot be seen under the microscope, studied, experimented and understood in a laboratory-like a virus. The only way to see and know God is by believing in Him. Many scientists, including Isaac Newton, believed in the existence of God and worshipped Him. Their belief in God did not impair their ability to function as critical and logical thinkers.

It is interesting how scientists invest huge sums of money and time to know about pathogens and afterwards convince the rest of the world to believe in their existence. Today, many presidents, kings, queens, military commanders, wealthy men and women and others have never seen coronavirus with their naked eyes; someone said it exists, and we all believe it.

Our belief is confirmed by how we fear the organism and insist on the use of face masks, social distancing, washing of hands with soap under running water and alcohol-based hand sanitizers to prevent its spread and deaths. If you can believe in a virus, why can’t you believe in God, the Creator of the universe? Who is worth believing in, God or virus?

Certainly, life on the earth is deeper than what we perceive and know through intellectualism. There is the spiritual aspect of life; in fact, there is life after death. A person who has received proper education and gained knowledge about both corporeal and incorporeal worlds understands that there is life after death. A person with deep knowledge about the physical world alone is but poorly educated.

There is a day coming called that day. On that day, Yeshua (Jesus) will judge the world. On that day, it will be known pastors who ministered wisely and those who ministered foolishly. And on that day, it will be revealed the worthlessness and futility of intellectual pride, technology and inventions in the face of the judgement of God.

On that day, “… the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and the very elements themselves will disappear in fire, and the earth and everything on it will be found to deserve judgement. Since everything around us is going to be destroyed like this, what holy and godly lives you should live, looking forward to the day of God and hurrying it along. On that day, he will set the heavens on fire, and the elements will melt away in the flames (2 Peter 3:10-13).

On that day, it will be exposed the uselessness of man’s wisdom. Many educated folks of this generation think they are smart and intelligent. They boast about inventions, but they do not realize how most of the things they boast about entrap, endanger and destroy many human lives. Arguably, science is responsible for most of the deaths of humans and destruction of the environment today.

Man, whether educated or uneducated, rich or poor, is a mist. He lives for a while and soon leaves the earth. Therefore, the best way God wants us to live in this world is to be humble, trust absolutely in the sacrifice made by Yeshua, obey His Word and recognize His existence. But the unregenerate man with reprobate mind is very proud. With his little education and few inventions, he blasphemes against things he does not understand.

But God says: “Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, Let not the mighty man glory in his might, Nor let the rich man glory in his riches; But let him who glories glory in this, That he understands and knows Me, That I am the Lord, exercising loving kindness, judgement, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight,” (Jeremiah 9:23-24).
